Records of this committee, orginally called the Health Planning Advisory Committee, established by the Legislature in 1992 [Laws 1992 c549 art1 s7] as an independent non-partisan advisory body to evaluate new and emerging health care technologies. The committee disbanded in July 2002 due to budget cuts [Laws 1st Spec Sess 2003 c14 art7 s89]. Topics covered in the records include diabetes, coronary artery disease, genetic testing, high dose chemotherapy, human immunodeficiency virus [HIV], vaccines, neuroimaging, newborn care, osteoporosis, heart attack, stroke, and breast, lung, cervical, and prostate cancer screening.
